Hi moms. Planning a trip for 2013 in nov-dec. Would like to try after amer.thanksgiving this time Nov 30-dec 12?. Staying at PO.FQ What do you think the crowds will be like due to Popwarner/Cheering/possible taping of Xmas day parade?

    Hi, Nicole!

What a wonderful time to be in Walt Disney World! You'll have the benefit of seeing all of the holiday magic, without having to endure the crowds that attend the parks during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday weeks. Great plan!

Last year, I visited WDW during that time period and did not notice additional crowds due to Pop Warner Super Bowl or Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance Championships. In fact, the parks were far less crowded than they had been when I was there over Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks. No worries there. According to touringplans.com, an unofficial crowd-predicting site, the levels expected at WDW during your trip are really great. The average crowd level on the 30th is predicted to be 7 out of 10, with every other day anywhere from an average of 6 out of 10 to 1 out of 10. Woo hoo! Great timing!

You'll really love Disney's Port Orleans resort, too; my son and I simply fell in love with the resort, which is really beautiful. I'm sure you'll love it!

Regarding the filming of the Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade, that date is always subject to change, so there are no guarantees no matter what you plan. I suggest that you simply pack something festive to wear just in case you're among the lucky Guests in attendance at next year's filming of this holiday favorite!

Send more questions as you think of them, Nicole; I love to help!
