planning a trip for Nov 2012 - 11/3/2012 - 11/10 - do you think Christmas lights will be up and would we be able to see Mickey X-mas Party during that time? Also what about chances of free dining??? Taking my aunts that have not been to Disney in 20 yrs

    Hi Laurie!

If this November is like previous Novembers for the past several years, you shouldn't have any problem going to a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party during that time.  They historically start up very quickly after the last Halloween Party.  With regards to decorations, the parks and resorts will start to put up Christmas decorations in early November, but some special Christmas related events won't start until after Thanksgiving.  That said, however, the Magic Kingdom will definitely be ready for the holidays when you go!

With regards to a Free Dining promotion, one hasn't been announced for that time period yet.  To get a good feel of what promotions have been offered by Disney in the past and when they have been offered, I recommend visiting the independent website MouseSavers.com.  At Mouse Savers, you can find a historical database of Walt Disney World Resort promotions.  If you use Google with the search string "Mouse Savers historical database" it should take you right there.  Be sure to explore the entire site!  Mouse Savers has a lot of money saving tips and ideas!

I hope this helps!  Enjoy planning your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and write back if you have any more questions!
