Hiya Judi - welcome to
planDisney!
Thank you so much for stopping by with your question about
Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passes! As an Annual Passholder myself, I recently experienced a similar situation to what you're describing and am happy to help you navigate your options.
Your annual pass is
eligible for renewal starting 60 days prior to its expiration. There are currently three convenient options for renewals:
- Renew online through your My Disney Experience account.
- Renew at a Walt Disney World Resort theme park ticket window or at a Guest Relations location, including at Disney Springs.
- Renew over the phone by calling 407-560-7277.
No matter when you renew, your new annual pass will have an expiration date one year after your current expiration date, so there's no reason to delay renewal. Once you renew, you will immediately have the option to book
Park Pass Reservations for yourself for those dates that were not previously available to you. In my experience, Park Pass Reservation availability has been great 60 days out, so you shouldn't have a problem getting the exact reservations you want that align with others in your party who are using standard theme park tickets.
I would
not advise you to book a room with tickets and cancel the tickets later. All Park Pass Reservations are linked to either a ticket or annual pass and are non-transferrable, so if you cancel those tickets, the associated Park Pass Reservation would also be canceled.
I hope this information helps your planning as you get ready to experience the magic of the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration!
Please let me know if any other questions come up that I can assist with.
