We are planning a trip in Nov 09 and I am not doing the dinning plan becuase we are a very tight budget. We are staying at the Fort And can cook most meals at the campsite. But I am just wondering how to cut cost of eating at the parks?

It's definitely possible to tour WDW on a budget. It just takes some creativity and planning.

First, please bring bottled water with you to the parks. The prices of drinks will definitely take a huge chunk out of your tight budget. It's more fun to splurge on a Mickey ice cream bar than a bottle of water, after all! But, if you forget your beverages, I still can suggest that you go to a counter service restaurant and ask for cups of ice. Then, fill up your cup at a nearby drinking fountain.

Next, always have snacks with you. You'll find sometimes that the rumbly in your tumbly is making that expensive cookie look even more tempting. However, if you have snack bags for each member of your family, then you can just pull out your Ziploc bag and dole out a snack when needed. Mark each bag with the person's name. This way if one child finishes their snack allotment then they know that they must wait until you return to the campsite for lunch.

I have low blood sugar and always carry snacks with me. Granola bars and peanut butter crackers work well. If the weather is warm, steer clear of anything that can melt such as bars with chocolate in them.

Order kid meals for adults. My husband and I frequently order ourselves the kid meals at counter service restaurants. At table service meals, share an entree. They are typically quite large!

If you must have a table service meal, have breakfast. Schedule it for the last seating and call it brunch! Two meals in one!
