I am planning a trip in Nov or Dec this year. I am going with myself, my husband, my five year old twins and my mom and dad. I am looking to see what a good place to stay is. Maybe a place with connecting rooms so we don't all have to stay together?

    Hi Barbara!

All of the resorts have connecting rooms, but you have to make sure to request them if that's what you want.  Disney Resort can be broken down into:
    • Deluxe Villas
    • Deluxe
    • Moderate
    • Value

Deluxe Villas are really Disney Vacation Club (DVC) properties that are made available to non-DVC members.  They can easily accommodate a large group; for example, you can get a 3 bedroom villa at some places.  My favorite two Deluxe Villas are the Villas at Wilderness Lodge and the Beach Club Villas.

My favorite Deluxe Resort is the Wilderness Lodge followed closely by the Polynesian Resort.  My favorite Moderate is Port Orleans Riverside.  My favorite Value is Pop Century.  The higher priced resorts have more on-site services and amenities, a nicer pool, and more activities such as bicycles, boat rentals, etc.

The first step is deciding when to go and then deciding where to stay.  If you want to see the rack rates for the various hotels at Walt Disney World, I recommend going to the independent website MouseSavers.com.  That site is full of information, including tips on saving money on a trip to Walt Disney World.  I'm a huge fan of that site.

I hope this gets you started.  When you have narrowed down your choices, write back!  Enjoy planning your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
