We are planning our trip for next year and trying to get a head start. Looking for advice on which hotel would be recommended for a 5 and 2 year old? I have been to Disney many times, but this will be my first with my own children. I'm so excited to go

    Hi Sandra,

We were Walt Disney World Resort “veterans” too when we brought our little guy with us for the first time. Each visit with him really does feel like a “First Visit”; it’s so amazing seeing the Magic through his eyes.

I’m sure that if you asked each of my fellow panelists, you would get a different Walt Disney World Resort Hotel recommendation from each one! I’m not sure what your budget is, so I’ll make two recommendations: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

My husband refers to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort as “toddler heaven”, and rightly so. The Big Blue Pool is pretty amazing, as is the theming. What we love about it are the Family Suites because that allows us to have two bathrooms and a kitchenette at our disposal during our stay. We love being able to make a quick breakfast in our Resort before heading out to the Parks.

My absolute favourite Walt Disney World Resort Hotel is Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. What I love most is the unbelievably warm and welcoming atmosphere that surrounds you the moment you walk through its doors - it really feels like an entirely different world. While the theming is perfect and the dining options are delicious, the animals really are the stars of the show at the Lodge. I love sitting on my balcony with a cold drink and a book during my son’s naps, watching the animals go about their day just a few yards away.

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming vacation… or at least gives you a bit of vacation inspiration as you make your choice! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
    Lynne
