Planning a trip for next year for family of 5 (2 adults, kids - 8, 6, 3). Looking at Beach Club, Boardwalk, Contemporary, and WL. WL is significantly less expensive, Contemporary has monorail, and the other 2 are within walking to Epcot & HS. Any insig

Hi David! I'm also a family of five so hopefully I can help you out with your decision.  First, the Wilderness Lodge room capacity is four people and one child under the age of three.  So if your youngest is already three, the standard room will not work for you but you can look at the suites that are available which will sleep up to six.  This will obviously increase the price and may be a factor in your decision.

Our family favorite is the Contemporary Resort.  Some of the reasons are obvious - the monorail is super convenient and our kids always loved the "cool" factor of the monorails driving through the resort.  If you have a room facing Magic Kingdom, the views are unbelievable!  Although we tended to choose the Bay Lake view in the tower so the kids could watch the monorails.  There is also a walking path from the resort to Magic Kingdom which can be handy when trying to get back to your hotel during peak times.  You are also a quick monorail stop away from the Transportation and Ticket Center.

The Boardwalk and Beach Club are also conveniently located as you mention.  If your children love pools, you really can't beat the pool at the Beach Club.  If you are willing to walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, this might be a good option for you and there are also boats available in case you are tired or it's simply too hot to walk.

I encourage you to also consider Disney's Art of Animation resort.   I actually like this resort better than some of the deluxe resorts I've stayed at.  The room layout is perfect for a family, especially when napping during the day.

I hope this helps.  I'd be happy to answer any follow-up questions you may have.  Good luck with your decision, David!
