We are planning or trip for next summer and I am trying to wrap my head around the new fast pass + system. If we do not get to the ride and the exact minute we are booked, how long do we have until we lose our reservation?

    Hi Rebecca,

The new FastPass+ system has made experiencing the Disney theme parks even better than ever.  I love being able to make my FastPass+ selections before I go to the parks.  Although my preference is to usually be at a theme park each morning at its opening, sometimes sleeping in is a better option for my family especially if we have had a late night the evening prior.  Since I can make and modify my FastPass+ selections through My Disney Experience, I have found that my family has enjoyed more spontaneity on our vacation.

Currently the time window for your FastPass+ selection is 1 hour.  The FastPass+ time window will be listed in My Disney Experience (and/or at the kiosk if you make a FastPass+ selection in the theme park) when you make your selection.  This time window has not changed from the previous Legacy FastPass system if you are familiar with that.

Here is a link for FastPass+ FAQ if you would like to learn more about its details.  Also if you have any other FastPass+ or Disney vacation planning questions please come back and ask them here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We love to help!
