Hello. We are planning a trip next October with our 3 girls (they will be 2, 9, 11). In the off chance our son can join us (19) can a family of 6 stay at the Grand Californian hotel if the 6th is 2? Thanks!

    Dear Ann,
I am so excited to know you're planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort, especially when you share that there's a chance your 19-year old son may be able to join in the fun!
Unfortunately, limits on room occupancy are set by the city Fire Marshal at five people per room.
This is not something the Disneyland Resort can accommodate due to safety restrictions (trust me, I've tried).
For fire safety requirement purposes, your 2-year old is considered a person even if he or she is such a young Mouseketeer.
But that's not to say you can't enjoy the majestic features of the Disney Grand Californian Hotel!
My suggestion would be to book a suite!
You should call the Disneyland Resort and speak to a guest services cast member. They will let you know if a suite is available for your dates. You can reach them at (714) 956-MICKEY or (714) 956-6425.
I will say, however, that oftentimes it's much easier to get a smaller room than a larger one. If you book a standard room, you can request connecting rooms so your family isn't separated.
    I hope this helps.
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
