Hi! I am planning a trip next December with my 2 kids who will be 13 and 8 when we visit.. I am so clueless and overwhelmed with everything! any tips, tricks, or any info at all would help! thanks!

    Hakuna Matata, Brooke!

No worries! You're getting a strong start on planning your Walt Disney World vacation. I know it can feel like there are lots of details to consider. Know that each of us at Disney Parks Moms Panel is here to help.

I always recommend starting with the Free Planning Videos for an overview of Walt Disney World Resort hotels, theme parks, and restaurant options. I also suggest the Tickets & Visit Guide for recommendations and tips designed for Guests looking for information that best fits their interests.

Once you have a big picture of all the magic, you can explore the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. If you're taking a budget-minded approach, you can look at categories for Deluxe, Moderate, and Value. If you're taking a location-minded approach, you can look at a theme park area such as Magic Kingdom Park area, Epcot area, Disney's Animal Kingdom Park area, Disney Springs area, or Wide World of Sports Resort Area. My personal favorites are the Magic Kingdom Park area and Epcot area Resort hotels because the proximity to the theme parks is so convenient.

Next up, tickets. Think about how many theme park days. My family enjoys hopping from park to park, so we always have a Park Hopper Option.

Next up, make your dining reservations at 180 days in advance of your visit. Then make your FastPass+ selections.

Brooke, those are just the quick highlights. Do come back with questions as you get into planning details!

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
