We are planning a trip after the new year and was wanting to know when will the Haunted Mansion be returning to “para”normal operations? Thank you in advance.

    Ghastly Greetings, Dennis!

Welcome, foolish mortal, to your very first planDisney question—I’m positively thrilled to help you today! Your excitement for your New Year visit to Disneyland Resort is giving me life. And I totally get why you’re drawn to the Haunted Mansion—it’s a classic! I just conjured up the “Behind the Attraction” episode about it on Disney+, and let’s just say, it’s illuminating. But since 2025 is still lurking in the shadows, I had to enlist the help of some of my friends on the other side…

I consulted Madame Leota, who said "Wizards and witches, wherever you dwell, give us a hint of when guests can return to the Haunted Mansion by ringing a bell!” She even asked all the spirits and creepy crawlies around to respond using various musical instruments, and you know I actually did hear some distant music, which I admit could have been a far-away ice cream truck. Though I didn't quite hear the exact date, I suspect those sneaky ghouls are keeping the secrets to themselves!

Now, Dennis, I must report that the schedule for (para)normal operations of the attractions in early 2025 is still under wraps. But don’t let that doom your buggies! The Hours & Events Calendar typically reveals closures up to six weeks in advance. So, when the time is right, be sure to check that page and look for the “Closed for Refurbishment” dropdown to see if your dearly departed ride is getting a ghoulish glow-up.

I can tell you that from my experience, this ride usually reopens in mid-January each year in its classic state. So, if history repeats itself, you might just have a spirited reunion around that time!

Dennis, you’re welcome to hurry baaaaaack whenever you have planning questions about your upcoming visits. I’m here to help and I love sharing my favorite tips!

    Beware of hitchhiking ghosts,
