I am planning a trip in  middle of Sept with two kids age 4 and 1 1/2 want to stay at a delux resort with monorail definitely to have food court close. Help?

    Hi Melodi,

September is a great time to travel with small children, as the summer crowds thin out dramatically after Labor Day and your ability to see and do more at a "toddler's" pace is greatly increased!  You've made a great choice!  As for which resort to chose, there are three on the monorail:

    • The Grand Floridian - this is Disney's Flagship Resort.  It's a victorian-themed property, a grand multi-story lobby and some of Disney's best restaurants, including the acclaimed Victoria and Alberts.
    • The Contemporary - as you can guess, this resort is contemporary in style, is home to Chef Mickey's (which many would say is the most popular character meal in the "world"), California Grille and the brand-new "Wave".  I've eaten at all, and they are fabulous.
    • The Polynesian, like the Contemporary, is one of the original two disney resorts.  Stepping into the lobby makes you feel like you are in Maui.  It's filled with exotic flowers and flowing water.  The volcano-pool is a huge hit with kids, as is the character breakfast at Ohana.

All of the deluxe, monorail resorts have both table service and quick service (counter) dining options, well-themed pools with slides and some of the best access to the parks on Disney property.  I think all are perfect for little kids, as you'll be able to wheel your stroller right onto to monorail (no need to fold!)  I don't think you could make a bad choice.  If you'd like to see detailed pictures of all of these properties to help you decide, visit www.allears.net and search accommodations from the home page.

    Have a great time!
