Hi! We are planning a trip for mid August. It seems like many of the moderate stays are under construction. Is the Port Orleans Riverside a good place to stay with a 3 year old and 5 year old? Thanks!

    Hi Tammy,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question. You’re right, between the construction underway at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, it seems as though there are some pretty new and exciting adventures that will be coming our way once the dust settles!

While I love Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside for its theming, I’ll admit that it has the same downside that several Resorts have: it’s incredibly spread out. That’s why Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is my favourite moderate resort in Walt Disney World Resort. It’s the smallest one in the moderate category, which means that you’re never more than a quick 5 minute walk to the main building that houses all of your transportation and dining options. The Resort’s theming is great and I think that your little ones would get a kick out of the pool and its new splash pad area. Plus, the Resort serves beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory! If you’re looking for a moderate resort for your upcoming vacation, that would be my recommendation for you.

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
