We are planning a trip for may. I have stayed at many resorts before but not caribean beach. We really want to stay there but we are nervous about transportation and location. Are we better off to stay at pop century,or a different moderate?

    Hello Amber,

I always love seeing a question from a fellow Texan! So, thanks for stopping by with your great question. I would love to offer my suggestion based on my past experience. Choosing a resort hotel for your Walt Disney World vacation is a big part of the planning.

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is a great resort for families. The colorful and festive island vibe of the islands is alive throughout the resort. I have stayed there many times and my kids absolutely love the main pool area, themed after a Spanish style fort. My boys also loved the pirate themed rooms, which are only available at this resort. In regards to location, this resort is closest to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios, but is pretty centrally located in the grand scheme of things. Since it is a larger spread out resort, there are multiple bus stops. This can add on a few extra minutes during your travel time when heading to or returning from the parks.

Another alternative I would recommend is my personal favorite, Disney's Port Orleans Resort. This resort has two sections, Riverside and French Quarter. The French Quarter section is much smaller and has one bus stop near the front entrance (much like at the value and deluxe resorts). This resort is closest to Epcot, but a lot further away from Disney's Animal Kingdom than Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Since there is only one bus stop, I would suggest requesting a room in building 4 at French Quarter.

Both resorts offer many of the same amenities and are both nice places to stay. I do not think you could go wrong with either. I hope I have been able to assist you in the decision. Happy planning!
