Hi there, Michele!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with another great question. I also love staying in the Deluxe Resorts, a special part of the Disney Resorts Collection, and am happy to walk through what’s available and what’s possible for your party of six next May. The Two Bedroom options are available in the Disney Deluxe Villas section of these gorgeous resorts and are a wonderful option with large kitchens, two full bedrooms, additional sleeping spaces, and several bathrooms for your family to spread out and relax on this special trip.
These murphy beds have been a great addition to Guest rooms as each resort is refurbished. I do not have insight into the future plans of each resort’s upgrades, but I can share what’s available now. I encourage you to reserve a desirable resort now for next May’s stay, and you can check availability as news of different upgrades to existing resorts is shared on the
Disney Parks Blog. You can always apply new special offers to that existing reservation for continued savings until your arrival in May 2024.
It was so much fun diving into this Disney detail for you, and now I'm also craving a resort stay at one of these gorgeous villas!
Here are my recommendations based on your needs and preferences:
Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge have the new murphy beds in both a Two Bedroom Villa and a Two Bedroom Lock-off Villa. If offered the lock-off option when calling or reserving online, please know this configuration is a One Bedroom Villa + a Studio as a connecting room. This offers the same living and sleeping space, but a smaller kitchen and additional privacy with another entry door. I adore the atmosphere, colors, and serenity of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, it’s a true escape!
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa also offer the new murphy beds in their Two Bedroom Villa and Two Bedroom Lock-off Villa. This is Disney’s stunning flagship resort and with its iconic red roof and proximity to Magic Kingdom Park, you can’t go wrong. Be sure to not reserve the new Resort Studios room type, as these do not have murphy beds.
Another thought is that
Disney’s Polynesian Village and Bungalows now have murphy beds, but aside from the Bungalows only offer Studio rooms. Your party of six could fit in two Studios here - giving you two queen beds, two queen murphy beds, and two single pull-down beds in total. These are some of my favorite rooms as each Studio boasts a split bathroom; you have two bathroom spaces with a walk-in spa shower and full tub/shower in a second bathroom. You wouldn’t have a full-size kitchen in this option, but if your family never cooks on vacation the efficiency kitchen setup may be all you need.
Thank you for sharing your preference to not stay at Disney’s Riveria Resort, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, or Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. For future reference, both Disney’s Riviera Resort and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort do have murphy beds for additional space and comfort.
I hope this tour of the fabulous options in a Two Bedroom Villa with a murphy bed has you dreaming of your visit this May, Michele! Please let us know if you have any further questions as you continue to plan this wonderful trip – we love to help you make the most of these special stays!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Amy
