Planning a trip and may fly and use Magical Express from airport...have a 3 year old and need to know if car seat is necessary for shuttle to hotel and if anyone knows if AirTran airways needs special seat for 3 year old, that will help too.

Ok for a minute I thought for sure my husband sent this question into the site!  His name is Ron and we are in Indiana, and we have a three year old grandson!

So to answer your questions, a car seat will not be necessary for the Magical Express bus from the airport. Florida law does not even require car seats in taxi cabs, however, you can request a cab that has one available to use.  We have flown Air Tran and this airline follows all the general rules that the other major airlines have in place when traveling with young children.  Our grandson does not use a special seat but we did purchase a special travel harness that wraps around the seat and is FAA approved. This is not required but is something we found was helpful.  If you have questions don't hesitate to call Air Tran and see if they have any new changes to their requirements.  You can probably find this on line as well.  Air Tran is a great airline that we enjoy using as well as Southwest!
