Hi! We are planning a trip in May with our almost 2 year old. We can't want to share the Disney magic with him! I know that he will be able to get in without a ticket or reservation since he is under 3, but will he need a Disney Magic band? Thanks!

    Hi ya, Alexandra!

I’m beaming with excitement and joy after reading about sharing the magic with your little Mouseketeer. You must be so excited about this visit.  Some of my favorite memories come from my Mouseketeer’s first visits.

MagicBands are your secure, all-in-one devices, that allow you to open your Disney Resort hotel room and enter the parks with (with valid admission). You are even able to charge food and merchandise purchases, to your Disney Resort hotel room, with them. I love MagicBands! I do have quite the collection now so I tend to match my MagicBand to my outfit for the day.

Since your Mouseketeer is not 3 years old and up, he does not need a MagicBand to link his valid Theme Park ticket to. If he’s anything like my little princess, he might be drawn to the idea of wearing one. Our little princess was almost 2-years old during her first visit and begged for her own MagicBand. Of course, she didn’t actually need or use it, she just liked the idea of matching the rest of the family. If this happens to be your case, I recommend bringing an older one from home.

Alexandra, as you continue to plan for this visit, I highly recommend adding Memory Maker to your trip. It’s the perfect way to capture all those classic photos without having to worry about pulling out your camera. Just look for a Disney PhotoPass photographer and have them take your picture for you. Be sure to ask for Magic Shots as well!

I can’t wait to hEAR all about your visit. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help with to make this trip Incredible!
