we are planning a trip for late september of this year. Our youngest daughter has juvenile diabetes and we are worried about if it is super hot and crowded at that time of year, and if there are plenty of places to get water during the day?

I understand your concerns; September is still a very warm time of year in Florida.  That being said, I can also let you know that September is our family's favorite month to visit.  Historically speaking, you've actually chosen a great time to go; crowds tend to be lower than average in September.

Ice-cold bottled water is readily available throughout the parks.  You can also find those little battery operated fans perched atop a water bottle that provide a cool spritzy breeze.

Many of the attractions are indoors and offer an air-conditioned respite from the heat and humidity.  Taking a mid-day break might also be a good idea to give your daughter a chance to rest up, refuel, and rehydrate.

September certainly is hot, but it is also very manageable as long as you go prepared and take the proper precautions.  Enjoy your trip!
