We are planning a trip in late May to Disney and are wondering are the Deluxe hotels worth the extra expense or would it be wiser to go Value and stay an extra night? We are going with an 11, 9, 6, 5, and infant aged children. Anyone have opinions?

    Hi Julie!

It's not an easy decision and I can see going either way!  The bottom line is if you don't expect to spend a lot of time in your hotel room, or even just at your hotel, then I suggest going with a Disney Value or Disney Moderate Resort.  However, if you think you will want to spend time at your hotel relaxing, unwinding, etc then a Disney Deluxe Resort is definitely the way to go.  A Disney Deluxe Resort offers the most services and amenities.

That said, my family and I usually stay at a Disney Moderate Resort, though we have stayed at all three types of resorts.  We will stay at a Disney Deluxe Resort when we can get a good deal.  The family has not stayed in a Disney Value Resort in many years, though I have stayed at Pop Century on solo trips.

My favorite Disney Deluxe Resort is the Wilderness Lodge.  My favorite Disney Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside, and my favorite Disney Value Resort is Pop Century.  However, Pop Century might get replaced by the new Art of Animation Resort opening later this year.  If you think you want to take a lot of breaks back at the hotel, then I suggest going with a Disney Deluxe Resort.  Otherwise, I suggest going with Port Orleans Riverside.

I hope this helps!  Give it some thought and write back with more questions; you can send your follow up question directly to me!
