We are planning a trip with a large group in August 2022 and I would like tips to get the most out of our trip. We have several in the group returning then we have several first timers. We will have all ages and want the best experience for everyone.

    Hi Linda,

We are delighted to see you stopping by planDisney with a great question!

Planning for a large group earns you an award for planning with patience! Having planned for large groups in the past, I understand your desire to create tailored magic for everyone. First things first, I suggest that you divide your large group into smaller groups. Then, assign a leader for each small group. Make sure you are connected with each small group leader through the My Family & Friends List in My Disney Experience and make sure you have selected the option to share all plans including Disney PhotoPass photos. When you plan, you can then rely on your smaller team of group leaders to make advanced dining reservations and Disney Park Park Pass system reservations for each small group.

Map out your days and make sure that you schedule time to dine, estimate costs for each dining location, and make good use of the My Disney Experience mobile app. Each group leader needs to be connected to everyone in their smaller groups in the My Family and Friends list. They should then be able to make dining reservations, Genie+ service selections, and Lightning Lane selections for everyone in their small group as long as they are linked in My Disney Experience.

I also suggest that you pick a place to gather once a day so that everyone can move at their own pace but you can see each other at least once a day. This location can be at the resort hotel or somewhere in the park. You could actually have everyone meet at a Disney PhotoPass photographer and take a picture once a day. Once you buy theme park tickets, you may need to start looking at resort hotels or you could book a vacation package with theme park tickets and a resort hotel! Make sure you have accommodations booked soon. And always check the Special Offers before making a reservation.

Given the size of your group and the importance of memories, I also recommend getting Memory Maker. My family has loved having access to all of our digital photos. Make note of the advanced dining reservation window which is currently 60-days prior to arrival. Review the Enchanting Extras Collection to see if there is a little extra magic to add prior to your trip. I am so excited! We scheduled a Capture Your Moment - Magic Kingdom photo session for our upcoming trip. Review the details and see if it might be possible to book a few sessions for your group. Sessions get booked quickly, so reserve as soon as possible!

Linda, I hope this helps you get started!

    Magic and memories,
