We are planning a trip 4/7/14-4/12/14 and would like to know the typical weather and if this is a high crowded time of year visit DW.

    Hi Mandy,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with you question.  I love a visit to Walt Disney World in the springtime!

The weather will be nice - warm enough to take a dip in the pool, but not as hot as it can be in the middle of summer.  In April, the average high temperature in Orlando is 83 degrees Fahrenheit, and the average low temperature is 60 degrees Fahrenheit.  It is not a particularly rainy month; however, you should be prepared for a rain shower to pop up every now and again.  My family likes to carry ponchos in our backpacks in case of rain, and a light jacket for evenings.

As to crowds, they can vary in the spring depending on when Easter is and thus when most school Spring Breaks are scheduled.  Because Easter is April 20 in 2014, I think that you are going to miss the heaviest Spring Break crowds.  You can expect the theme parks to have some crowds, but not to be packed.  When I am looking for predictions of crowd levels at Walt Disney World, I like to visit the unofficial site touringplans.com.  For a small cost, you can see their predictions of crowds for Walt Disney World for up to a year in advance.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Mandy.  Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
