Hi! I am planning a trip to the Kingdom and I am interested in learning what there is to do for FREE outside of the theme park that would interest a 2 and 5 year old. I saw a post similar to this but it was from 2011, thanks in advance!!

    Hello, Tylyn,

Walt Disney World is filled with so many fun things for families to do, both inside and outside the theme parks. When outside the theme parks, there are even some things that are free!
    • Movies under the Stars at your Disney resort
    • Chip 'n Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort (you can bring your own marshmallows to roast or purchase some there)
    • Hidden Mickey hunt at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort or Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort (just ask the front desk about it)
    • Animal watching at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort and storytelling in the evening around the Arusha Rock fire pit
    • Cooling off in one of the splash areas at Downtown Disney and getting a free chocolate sample at Ghirardelli® Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop
    • Exploring the Tri-Circle-D-Ranch at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort
    • Riding the monorail around the Magic Kingdom Resorts and visiting those resorts; you may even encounter an activity you could join such as hula dance lessons at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
    • Watching the fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant from the beach at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

I hope these help to give you some ideas of some complimentary things to enjoy as a family outside of the theme parks.  If you have any further questions, please let us know.  -Kara
