Hi Nancy,
You are choosing between two great resorts - I do not think that you can make a bad decision!
Having stayed at
Disney's Polynesian Resort, you already know some of the wonderful benefits of this resort, such as being right on the monorail line, the beautiful theme, and the ability to watch nighttime fireworks from the beach. There is also the added benefit that your family is familiar with the resort, so it will probably feel really comfortable to be there.
I would like to make a pitch for why you should stay at
Disney's BoardWalk Inn. Disney's BoardWalk Area is my favorite resort area at Walt Disney World. My Disney Vacation Club home resort is Disney's BoardWalk Villas! You mention that you love easy transportation. From Disney's BoardWalk, you can take a boat, or even walk, to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. You do need to take a bus to Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom. There is also so much to do in walking distance right around Crescent Lake - you can easily walk to Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, or the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts, which adds so many dining and nightlife options, not to mention the dining and nightlife right at Disney's BoardWalk!
As to a November trip, this is during a really nice time at Walt Disney World. The weather is cooler, with an average high of 79 degrees Fahrenheit. As November progresses, it will be time for the winter holiday decorations to start, and for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party to begin.
I would love to help you plan further Nancy; however, I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
