I am planning a trip with my 2 kids ages 12 and 9 in August. However, I am struggling with which hotel to choose. I am worried the value hotels might be crowded or noisy, any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi Heather,

I understand your dilemma! There are so many wonderful Disney Resort hotel choices, sometimes it is difficult to decide which one is right for your vacation. Typically I am frugal and I often choose the most budget friendly option. However, there are certainly times in which upgrading my accommodations makes the most sense.

My biggest piece of advice is stick to your budget. You want to make happy memories, not be burdened. Personally I would price the difference between vacation packages with the options that you would like (tickets, Disney Dining Plan, etc...) for both a Value Resort hotel and a Moderate Resort hotel. If the Moderate option is within your budget, then I would choose it. However if the price difference is out of your range, then choose the Value Resort hotel and you will still make wonderful memories!

One thing to consider is the price range between the different Value Resort hotels. Standard rooms in The Little Mermaid section at Art of Animation Resort hotel cost more than standard rooms at the other Value Resort hotels. Art of Animation Resort hotel is a newer hotel that is highly themed and has more amenities than the other Value Resort hotel categories. If you are wavering between Value and Moderate due to cost, you might consider The Little Mermaid section at Art of Animation as a compromise.

Regardless of your choice, you are bound to have a great vacation! This past August my family stayed at a Deluxe Resort hotel for several days followed by a Family Suite at a Value Resort hotel. Both of our stays were magical and we loved each Resort hotel. August is very popular with vacationers, but if you allow extra time for travel and meals you will have a wonderful vacation.

Please let us know if we can help you any further! We would love to hear from you again.

    Blessings,
