Planning trip for 12/26/17-1/7/18. Want to do Keys to the Kingdom tour. Does tour usually run on 12/31? Thinking this might be a good day for tour since MK will be crowded. I noticed on 12/31/16 there are no times listed. What r ur thoughts on tour/date?

    Hi Amanda,

I'm a big fan of Walt Disney World behind-the-scenes tours, and I think Keys to the Kingdom is a must for any serious Disney fan. You learn tons of in-depth information about how Magic Kingdom was developed and operates today. You also get to see the backstage areas including the parade staging area and the underground utilidor tunnels, plus special escorted rides on the Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion.

Unfortunately, I believe the tour is suspended during the very busy weeks just before and after Christmas and resumes shortly after New Year's. Even if you can't go on December 31 as you had hoped, I recommend considering the tour for later in your visit.

If you are fan of Epcot's World Showcase, as I am, I also recommend the World Showcase: DestiNations Discovered tour, which is similar to Keys to the Kingdom but around the World Showcase.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We love sharing our experience with guests planning their own Walt Disney World vacations. Please let us know if we can help in any other way as you put together your holiday visit next year.

    Enjoy!
