We are planning a trip for June 2010 with our three kids and our teenage niece. We are planning on staying at the Cabins at Disney. Is there a place to get enough groceries to last the week?Does the store have more than convenience items?

    Thomas:

Fort Wilderness will give you a respite not only from the crowds of the park but the heat under its canopy of pines comes June!

I wouldn't plan on doing your weekly grocery shopping at the fort's two trading posts, The Settlement and The Meadows. Although they carry fresh fruit and staples like bread and milk, you are correct to assume that the rest of the items are more for convenience like hot dogs, boxed baked goods and frozen pizza.

You might want to check out a grocery delivery service like www.gardengrocer.com. If you don't have a car to leave the property, the delivery fee will be cheaper than renting a cab!  My fellow Moms Panelist Kay has used them several times while staying at the cabins and could give you a good review and what to expect. If you'd like her opinion, just send her a question via her personal bio page.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
