Planning a trip for June 2013, we always stay at Poly, but may want to change things up. Is Art of Animation gonna be a step down from the Polynesian? We like the restaurants there, and the monorail is sooooo convenient. Kids will be 9 & 3.

I totally understand your love of Disney's Polynesian Resort, Melissa; it's a great place to call "home" while you're at Disney.  The new Art of Animation, resort, too, offers guests a fun experience, albeit entirely different than the Polynesian.  As frequent guests of the Polynesian, you've come to appreciate the convenience of the monorail as well as onsite, table-service restaurants.  You won't experience either of those things at Art of Animation, though depending upon which section you book, you may experience the perk of added space to stretch out.  You might also enjoy the theme at Art of Animation; it's full of color and, well, animation.  I venture to guess that your kids will fall in love with the place.  Yes, you might miss some of the conveniences afforded to Polynesian guests, but I vote to give the Art of Animation a try and see what you think.  Enjoy!
