Planning trip July'20. WDW parks aren't relaxing; my mom (60s) would like a beach-like &relaxing too. What moderate resort is best recommended for downtime&relaxing; best pool? What other activities are there besides parks/pools for teens?

    Hey Amy!

I totally get wanting some rest and relaxation while you are on vacation. I think what you're looking for can be found at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. This moderate level resort is actually my favorite out of all of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is a tropical paradise that can transport anyone to island time. From Calypso music playing to hammocks on white sandy beaches, I don't think there is a more relaxing spot. In fact, it's so relaxing that my husband has been known to fall asleep in the hammocks a number of times! The pool area at this resort is also fantastic. It's a zero-entry pool with two slides and water cannons firing about. The pool is spacious and even on the sunniest Florida days, it has never seemed crowded to me.

As soon as you mentioned your teens, Disney Springs immediately popped into my mind! There are so many fun things to do there and it doesn't require theme park admission. Some ideas are bowling and sushi at Splitsville Luxury Lanes or have dinner while watching a movie at the AMC Dine-In Theatre. Another fun idea would be to head to the Coco-Cola Store Rooftop Beverage Bar and order a float tray to sample! This is 8 different flavors of Coca-Cola products topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It's so fun to share this and see which one is the favorite! My suggestion list could go on and on, there are so many fun things for teens at Disney Springs. I hope this helps!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
