we are planning a trip in July. We will be bringing our own scooters. How will we able to get them on the bus from our hotel in Disney to one of the parks every day?

    Hi Bonnie,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing this question to us!

With a husband who has a mobility disability, we have learned how to navigate the Walt Disney World Resort hotels and theme parks. When you prepare to board the Walt Disney World Bus Service, the bus driver will lower the bus so that you can drive your scooter onto the bus. There are designated areas on the bus for scooters. Since I always like to help guests visualize a process, I searched YouTube and found a video on "How to park a scooter on a Walt Disney World Bus" - you may find it helpful!

Prior to your visit, I suggest that you review the Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities. There are also other Services for Guests with Disabilities. We have found the Guides for Guests with Disabilities especially helpful. If you take a look at the one for Magic Kingdom, for example, you will see tips and other information. One of our favorite icons on the park map is the symbol that indicates special parade viewing area for guests with disabilities.

Bonnie, remember that the weather at the Walt Disney World Resort can be unpredictable. On our visit last July, we went to ride Avatar Flight of Passage. My husband parked his ECV. While we were on the ride, it poured down rain. Although it had stopped raining by the time we exited the ride, his ECV was soaked. I suggest that you bring a towel or something to use to wipe down the scooter in case it rains!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
