I am planning a trip in January 2010. I am traveling with my husband, a 3 year old and a 4 year old. Is it worth it to buy a meal plan for children that young? Can my husband and I use meal plans but pay out of pocket for the kids?

Hi, Kimberly!   I think the Dining Plan is a great deal for kids.   If you get the Base Dining Plan ($10.99 per child - price may increase for 2010) this can pay for itself in less than one meal!  For example, a child's buffet meal at Chef Mickey's is about $14.99 - more than you would pay for the Dining Plan for that day!  And on top of that Table Service meal, you will also get a Quick Service Meal credit and a snack.

All members of your party staying in your room must be on the same Dining Plan, so if you and your husband are on the Plan, your children need to be as well.      To read more about the Dining Plan, click HERE.

Enjoy your January vacation to Walt Disney World!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
