We're planning a trip for January 2012 and are torn between the Contemporary and the Polynesian. We'll have 3 rooms (7 adults, a 4 y-o and a 2 y-o) so want to be sure everyone is happy. How do garden rooms compare to lake or theme park view rooms at each?

    Hi Ellen!
Wow, tough question! It's like you're asking me to pick my favorite child!! :)
First off, no matter where you stay, EVERYONE should be happy because, well, you're in Walt Disney World. Second, both resorts are on the monorail, so convenience is a tie. I think the better theming and resort pool goes to the Polynesian, but the better park view goes to the Contemporary. Whether or not the extra money for the view is worth it depends on the individual. I have stayed on both sides of the Contemporary, and although I prefer a Magic Kingdom view, I did not have any less of a spectacular time with a view of Bay Lake. But I must say, the Magic Kingdom view is awesome (the higher the floor, the better). Finally, dining options at both are different in terms of food, but I think the nod goes to the Poly on this one, too.
So, although I have stayed at both and really like both for different reasons, I would choose the Polynesian if I had to choose only one.
I hope this helps and I wish you a Magical vacation!! :)
