    Hello! We are planning a trip Jan. 2, and I was wondering if it would be too cold to ride any of the water rides, like Splash Mountain? Thanks

    Welcome to the Moms Panel Julie!

    Your trip is super close and I bet you're too excited to sleep already!

    Here are the average temperatures and precipitation amounts for January:

    January
    * Average high temperature: 70.8
    * Average low temperature: 48.6
    * Average precipitation: 2.30

    Keep in mind that these are averages so it can vary.

    There are only a couple of water rides where you have the potential of getting really wet:  Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom & Kali River Rapids at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

    If you ride the water rides in the afternoon, you may be okay on a sunny day.  But if its cloudy or overcast, it may be a little chilly. A poncho may protect you some but your feet may still get wet.  Lots of people ride the water rides all year long. I am cold natured so I avoid them during the winter months or bring along a change of clothes to keep in a locker in case I get soaking wet.

    Please feel free to visit us with any other questions during your planning.  It is our pleasure to assist you!

    Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
