Hi Ashley, welcome to planDisney!
January is a lovely time to visit
Walt Disney World Resort. Some places are worth melting for, but my family appreciates the more mild temperatures of a winter visit.
The World's Most Magical Celebration promises EARidescent fun for everyone, including unforgettable memories made while watching Cinderella Castle come alive with projections framed in fireworks during
Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom park.
When
purchasing theme park tickets through the Walt Disney World website, part of the process requires you to assign tickets to individuals on your
Family and Friends list in
My Disney Experience. I highly recommend making sure all members of your planning party are connected as Family and Friends before the ticket purchase to avoid duplicate My Disney Experience profiles. If you are staying at a
Disney Resort Collection hotel, everyone may already be connected or can easily connect in My Disney Experience through the
resort reservation. If individuals in your planning party do not have their own My Disney Experience accounts, the person purchasing the tickets can click "Add a New Guest," which means the person making the reservation will manage their plans. If the Guest added ends up having a My Disney Experience account, you can transfer the ticket reservation in My Disney Experience online by clicking "Update" next to that person's name in My Disney Experience, "Share Planning with ___," and entering the email associated with their My Disney Experience account. Once the email invitation is accepted, the transfer will be complete.
If you're
linking tickets in My Disney Experience that were not purchased on the Walt Disney World Resort website, the individual entering the ticket ID codes will have the same option to connect each ticket to a member of their Family and Friends list or "Add a Guest."
If need be, wholly unused tickets can be reassigned in My Disney Experience until their first usage. To do this, scroll down on the
My Disney Experience planning page and click "Tickets and Memory Maker." Select the "Reassign Ticket" dropdown menu to the right of the appropriate ticket and select a name from the account holder's Family and Friends list or the plus sign to "Add a Guest." That option keeps coming up, doesn't it?
I hope we don't have to wait too much longer for 2023 tickets to be released, Ashley. Based on historical trends, I'm thinking June or early summer. I recommend keeping an eye on the Walt Disney World website, which updates regularly and should alert Guests when dates for 2023 are available for booking. You can upgrade a resort-only reservation to a package that includes tickets by calling the
Disney Resort Hotel reservation number.
Plan magic; planDisney.
