We are planning a trip with my husbands sister's family. 1st ? is there a way to book 2 separate rooms at one of the value resorts but get them close together. 2nd? - can we book dining so we an sit together but pay separately with our own dining plans?thx

    Hi, Michelle!

How exciting! We love taking family trips with extended family as it always adds so much more fun to the vacation.

When you call Disney Resort Hotel Reservations at (407) 939-1936, ask the Cast Member assisting you to book two separate rooms at the same resort. Next, ask for a request to be placed on both reservations that they be located as close as possible to each other. Then, ask the CM to link the two together, as well, so that anyone assisting your party will be able to see the other reservation as well. We've had great luck by doing so several times; I'm sure you will, too!

Regarding dining, you can handle the charges several ways. When traveling with extended family, we always purchase the Disney Dining Plan, regardless of how many different rooms or resort hotel reservations we have among us. Simply tell your servers at your Table-Service meals that you will all be using the Dining Plan. To help keep additional charges such as a glass of wine, an appetizer that may not be on your plan or even just the gratuity, you may also tell your server that you need separate checks. You can easily have specific individuals grouped together on their own family check, regardless of where they are sitting, which will also enable you to charge extras to each room correctly or simply pay a balance with cash or a credit card per bill. This past summer, I had booked a dinner for 21 of my family members at Sanaa, which is located at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas-Kidani Village. There were five families mixed in at our two tables, yet we had no problems keeping our bills separate.

Have fun planning this wonderful trip, Michelle! Be sure to send more questions as you think of them; I'd love to help!
