I am planning a trip for 1/21/10-1/27/10 for my husband, me & 4yr old daughter. I am not sure how many days we will spend in Epcot, but want to do lunch at Akershus & dinner at Garden Grill. Is this too many character meals in one day?”
Hi Marie!
I think it's great that you are spending the day at Epcot. There are many attractions that are not only appropriate for, but absolutely loved by young children! At four, my boys ranked The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Turtle Talk with Crush, Journey into Imagination and the Kodak "What If?" Labs near the top of their "Epcot Favorites" list. They also had a wonderful time walking through the World Showcase, filling an Epcot "passport" with stickers from each of the countries we strolled through. Finally, the park has a wonderful "one stop shopping" character meeting area, where you can wait on one, indoor, air-conditioned line and meet many Disney superstars, including Mickey, Minnie and Goofy.
Regarding your dining plans for the day, I think you've done a great job, and I wouldn't change a thing. In my opinion, the Princess Storybook Lunch at Akershus is one of the best princess character meals, as the setting is fantastic and the list of "special guests" changes, and is so exciting for their admirers! We've seen Snow White, Jasmine and Belle here, but other princesses make the rounds on a rotating basis. Garden Grill is a completely different dining experience. The restaurant rotates through The Living with The Land Attraction as you dine (don't worry, it moves so slowly, you will barely notice), and Mickey, Pluto and Chip n' Dale come by to ensure you are enjoying your dinner. Dinner is an all-you-care-to-eat family-style meal, that includes huge platters of fresh rolls, salad, fish, turkey, steak, cornbread stuffing and veggies. The dessert is a yummy cobbler that generally needs at least on "refill" for my family!
Have a wonderful day at Epcot!
