Planning our 1st trip - husband, me and our 16 yo son. 5 days 4 nights. I'm interested in a value or moderate resort. Also any reco for trip planning. We have no idea what to do! What about water parks? We're planning for last week in March. thx

    Hi Alex!

I'm pleased to give you some trip planning recommendations.
I'll start out with the questions you've already asked, and then please feel free to write me back as often as you wish until all of your questions are answered!

Beginning with resorts. At the Value level, for a 16 year old boy, my top recommendation would be Disney's Pop Century Resort. At the Moderate level, definitely Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. The boat to Downtown Disney is a great perk as your son will likely enjoy a visit to stroll around in the evening, or hit some gaming at DisneyQuest.

With 5 days to visit, I'd recommend that you visit all four parks, for one day each as well as a visit to one of the Disney Water Parks. Disney's Typhoon Lagoon would be my pick for your family, and for your 16 year old. You may even wish to consider Surf Lessons to start your water park day off!

Spend a whole day and evening at each of Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. All three parks have nighttime shows; Wishes, Fantasmic! and IllumiNations respectively, and all are fantastic. If you'd like a dining recommendation for each of these days, feel free to write back with some of your preferences or aversions, and I'll be happy to suggest something great in each location for you!

Animal Kingdom Park closes earlier than the others, with no nighttime show. This makes for a perfect opportunity to spend the dinner hour and evening at Downtown Disney. Consider DisneyQuest or pick up tickets to see the amazing Cirque du Soleil - La Nouba.

I look forward to hearing from you soon, to further assist you in your planning Alex!
    Have a Magical day!
