We are planning a trip with the grandkids for 2025. We want to do a cruise and a week stay at Disneyworld. What are our best options for planning this out and how far in advance can we make the reservations. Are there any longterm payments like NCL does?

    Ahoy Amy!

Welcome aboard planDisney for the first time! I love that you are planning to book a land AND sea vacation. Combining a Walt Disney World trip with a Disney cruise is absolutely the best of both worlds. Exploring theme parks and tropical destinations in a single vacation? Yes, please!

While you are a bit early to get information for a Disney cruise and Walt Disney World vacation in 2025, I must say that I like your style! One of my favorite tidbits of advice is to book your Disney Cruise Line vacations early. Booking an itinerary as far out as possible is typically the best way to save money. So you are right on target to maximize your Disney dollars!

Currently, Disney Cruise Line itineraries are only available for booking through May 2023. Captain Mickey traditionally announces June-December itineraries in the early Spring. So since you have your eyes on a Summer 2025 voyage, check back on the Disney Cruise Line website starting in early 2024 for the newest batch of cruise information to be released. Be aware that you will not be able to make any payments until your cruise reservation is actually booked.

In the meantime, my suggestion is to create a special savings account EARmarked for your land and sea vacation. You’ll be amazed how much money you could put aside for your adventure at sea (and by land) over the next few years! Then, you can make incremental payments online or by phone. On the Disney Cruise Line website, under the “Already Booked” tab, select “Make a Payment” and log into your account. Your goal is to have your cruise paid off by the Payment in Full date.

An early-bird booking for a voyage far out on the horizon is also a surefire way to ensure that you will be able to select the stateroom of your dreams! Don’t feel like everyone has to book the same category of staterooms either; there’s a variety of offerings from Inside, Oceanview and Verandah. Also, check out the Special Offers link because one of those might be an extra source of savings.

If you have any additional questions in the future when making these reservations, planDisney is here to help! Whether on the Disney Cruise Line side or Walt Disney World, voyage back to see us and we will assist you in making the most of your family vacation.

    SEA ya real soon!
