Planning trip with Girl Scouts July 22-27 for YES workshops and just trying to get a little more info. Will we be able to get "fast pass" for rides and get dinner reservations in advance like our usual trips to Disney?

Oh my goodness, Joanne! Those Girl Scouts are going to have the trip of a lifetime, and they are so lucky to have a Disney fan like you in charge! I was blessed with an opportunity this summer to participate in the Disney Youth Programs and the Youth Education Series classes, and I'd love to share my pixie-dusted experience and give you some Moms Panel tips to ensure your trip goes smoothly.

The Disney Youth Education Series (or YES classes) cover topics such as science, arts and humanities, and leadership and careers, but the best part is that they are taught in the most magical classroom in the "World!" Newton's Laws of Motion become so much more interesting when kids are allowed to experience for themselves how they are fundamental to the creation of exhilarating theme park attractions like Space Mountain and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. And who wouldn't want to take a drawing class from a real-life Disney animator (can you see me waving my hand in the air)?

If you are the designated group leader, Joanne, then you should complete and submit a Program Request Form at least six weeks before your arrival date. Once that form is processed, you will receive an email with written confirmation of your scheduled program(s), date(s), and time(s) from a Disney Youth Representative. At that point, I'd encourage you to reach out to your representative who will assist with making the FastPass+ selections and dining reservations for your scout group; although they can't do them for you, the Services Team will give you the streamlined steps to do it. The FastPass+ process is very similar to what you've already experienced during your family trips to Walt Disney World; if your group is staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, then you'll be able to start making those FastPass+ selection 60 days prior to your arrival. Otherwise, your window will open 30 days before your trip. And speaking of accommodations, if you do want to stay on property, call (877) 939-6884, and a member of the Disney Youth team will be glad to help you.

Walt once famously said, "Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children. It sounds like you and I both agree with him, Joanne! I hope you have a fantastic time, and if there's anything else we can help you with, please reach out.

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
