Planning trip for 3 generations in June 2010. We want to stay in a moderate resort. We are concerned about the amount of walking within the CBR since my MIL has difficulty walking. She usually rents a motorized vehicle in the parks. Suggestions?

Hi, Beth!   It sounds like you are planning a great family vacation!   If you are looking for a Moderate Resort with the least amount of walking, I suggest you look at Port Orleans French Quarter.   With just over 1,000 rooms, it is the smallest of the Moderate Resort properties.

If you have decided on Caribbean Beach, you might want to request a room close to Old Port Royale so you are close to the food court and main pool area.

Regardless of what resort you ultimately choose, let the cast member know when you are booking if your mother-in-law will need a handicapped accessible room, and that she will need a first floor room close to the food court and/or bus stop.   This will give her the least amount of walking around the resort.

Wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECV's) are available for rent at all the theme parks.   For more information, click HERE.   Good luck planning your family vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
