Hello, we are planning a trip to Florida June 30 - July 9 and would like our daughter (7) to experience the fireworks at Cinderella castle and greet the princesses and of course Mickey and Minnie. We looked on line and did not see planning that far ahead.

Those activities are kind of like rights of passage for those of us who really love Disney, aren't they Pierre? My oldest daughter was the same age your daughter is now the first time we visited Walt Disney World. I have so many magical memories of that trip and I know your family will come home with a whole slew of your own.

You may or may not be aware of the health and safety measures that are currently in place, but it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with them prior to taking your trip. The pandemic-related updates require Guests to have valid theme park admission as well as a theme park reservation. I want to make sure you don't overlook that requirement as you put your itinerary together.

As of right now, fireworks are not taking place at Walt Disney World, but I do have some suggestions as to how you might enjoy some fun after dark. How about attending a Movie Under the Stars at your resort? Or maybe you'd like to watch the Electrical Water Pageant make its way across the Seven Seas Lagoon. One of my youngest daughter's favorite things to do at night is to get an ice cream cone from the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop in Disney Springs.

Character greetings, too, look a little bit different right now. At Magic Kingdom, you can see Mickey and friends, as well as your favorite Disney princesses, in cavalcades that travel along the parade route for spontaneous fun. Similar processionals take place in the other theme parks as well. Another opportunity to glimpse Mickey and Minnie takes place during a character breakfast at Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera. Chef Mickey's also hosts a character breakfast at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

A lot of us are hoping that some of the things we love to experience return to the Walt Disney World schedule soon, Pierre. You still have quite some time before your trip, and it's possible that there will be more updates before you go. I recommend keeping a close eye on the Disney Parks Blog so that you'll stay informed about what is available during your upcoming vacation.

And speaking of that vacation, I sure hope it's a magical one!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
