    Hi Robin ~

December is a wonderful month to visit Disney World! The parks and resorts are gorgeous for the holidays.

I have a son with several types of special needs including limited mobility so I completely understand your concerns. We have stayed at Port Orleans and love it.

We try to stay in the Alligator Bayou section of Port Orleans. In Alligator Bayou, I would suggest either Building 15 or 14. Building 15 will be closer to parking. Both buildings would put you close to the South Depot for bus transportation. Those buildings are also located close to the Riverside Mill Food Court, the Main Lobby and Fulton's General Store. From the Riverside Mill Food Court, it is only a short distance across the bridge to Ol' Man Island which is the main pool. There is also a leisure pool not far away.

My next two choices would be Building 16 or 18. Building 16 will put you a little closer to parking. Ol' Man Island is a little further away but there is a leisure pool nearby. These buildings are a little further away from the South Depot.

Buildings 14, 15 and 18 are considered preferred locations so their rates may be a little higher than the other buildings in Alligator Bayou. There are little trade-offs in everything.

You may want to request a ground floor room if stairs are an issue for your daughter. When making any special requests, prioritize them. Disney does everything they can to meet special requests but keep in mind they are requests and are not guaranteed. Have them make a note of your requests at the time you make your reservation. I also call about a week ahead to confirm my requests are noted on the reservation and mention them upon check-in.

Please feel free to visit with any other questions. We are hEAR to help!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
