    We are planning a trip for February 2014 and need help choosing a resort. We were planning on staying at the Wilderness Lodge but are now looking at the more affordable Port Orleans FQ. Which would you choose and why?

    Hi Natasha!

    Choosing a resort at Walt Disney World mostly depends on budget and taste.

    When budget allows, either the Polynesian Resort or the Contemporary Resort would be my first choice.
    All Disney Deluxe Resorts offer great location, benefits, amenities and comfort, but the location of these two resorts offer great convenience when visiting Magic Kingdom and character and signature restaurants.  Getting to Epcot from these two resorts is also very easy.  
    Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort with a very relaxed setting and environment.  It features a boat to and from Magic Kingdom.
    Only Deluxe Resorts feature character and signature restaurants, plus the best pools.

    Port Orleans Resort offers beautiful landscapes, comfortable rooms, great pool for kids and a relax atmosphere.  Disney bus transportation is very convenient from this resort, plus you can enjoy a boat ride to and from Downtown Disney.
    Still, when possible I like to rent a car and drive to the parks and other resorts.  This allows more flexibility, convenience and we are able to save lots of precious time.
    My kids love staying at the Alligator Bayou on the Port Orleans Resort-Riverside, to take turns on the bunk-size pull down bed featuring Louis the Alligator. 

    It is also important to consider how much time you plan staying at the resort.
