Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it’s off to planDisney you go, Troy! Thanks so much for stopping by with your question.
How exciting to be visiting the
Disneyland Resort for your daughter’s first trip in just a few short weeks! Here’s the
Entertainment Schedule for your day of arrival, to help you get started. Here, you’ll find park hours, entertainment schedules, and see any attractions that are scheduled to be closed for refurbishment.
Character meet-and-greets and autographs are such a special part of a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, so I can relate to your question, Troy! Unfortunately, Characters aren’t currently signing autographs at the Disneyland Resort, and the traditional meet-and-greets look a little bit different right now. However, I’m happy to report that you can still find your favorite Disney Characters throughout
Disneyland Park,
Disney California Adventure Park, and even at the
Disneyland Resort Hotels! You’ll be able to catch a distanced selfie, or even have a nice chat with them, typically from behind a distanced rope. One of the biggest perks of this type of meet-and-greet is that you can watch the Characters for as long as you and your family want to, no line required!
Currently, my family’s favorite
Character Experience is on Main Street, U.S.A., on the steps leading up to the Disneyland Railroad. Here, you can usually find Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto throughout the day. Chip and Dale have been known to make a stop by here, too! Another great spot in Disneyland Park is to the right of Disney Showcase, also on Main Street, U.S.A. Just last week, my daughter received a big “heart” in the air from Minnie Mouse, who posed sweetly for a picture with her from a distance.
Another special way to connect with Disney Characters is through one of the
Character Dining experiences offered throughout the Resort. My family loves
Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park, which features a delicious breakfast at Plaza Inn in Disneyland Park. During these experiences, you’ll often get a special photo opportunity, along with prime viewing of a fun Character “parade” through the dining area, so you can wave and take pictures of your daughter with her favorite Characters from a distance.
If your daughter would still like to purchase an autograph book, I have a fun idea for you! Take pictures with each of her favorite Characters, then cut them out and glue them into her autograph book for a fun look back at your magical vacation! You and your family could also write down favorite memories throughout the book, to preserve those magical moments for years to come.
I hope this information helps, Troy! Please stop by with any additional questions as you continue planning your vacation… we’re all EARs!
