Planning a trip Feb 15-Feb 20th. 1st time visit for our girls who will be 5 and 2. We can't decide on a resort. We would like to be close to MK. We plan on getting the deluxe dining. AofA resort looks like a great deal but far from MK. Any resort recs?

    Hi Kaylene!

How exciting that you're planning your girls' First Walt Disney World Vacation!
They're at great ages to be mesmerized by all the magic and wonder of Disney!

Deciding on a resort is one of the hardest, but most fun decisions about a Walt Disney World trip.

If budget is a factor, you really can't go wrong with the amazing new Art of Animation Resort. Your little ones will enjoy the feeling of being right "in" some of their favourite Disney movies! Magic Kingdom is the furthest park from this resort, about a 20 minute bus ride away.

A really great, moderately priced, centrally located resort I'd highly recommend is Disney's Port Orleans Resort. Choose from the Riverside where you can treat your little Princesses to a new Royal Guest Room, or choose the quaint French Quarter, just next door. Both are just fantastic properties featuring kids' play areas and activities, water slides, great dining options and even a boat from the resort to Downtown Disney.

If your budget is flexible and being close to Magic Kingdom is of key importance, then you'll want to step up to a Deluxe Resort. Disney's Wilderness Lodge is a short and enjoyable boat ride from Magic Kingdom and even features rooms with bunk beds! This resort is priced on the lower end of the Deluxe pricing scale. My personal favourite resort in the Magic Kingdom Resort area is hands down, Disney's Polynesian Resort. With the Magic Kingdom monorail at its doorstep, the Epcot monorail a short walk away, views of the Wishes fireworks from the beach and dining options galore, you just can't go wrong here!

Take a look at these great resorts on the Walt Disney World Resorts page.
If you have any additional questions to help you make your decision, I hope you'll write to me again soon Kaylene!

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel!
