Welcome to planDisney, Anna! I'm so glad you found your way to us today with your planning question about making some extra magic for your princess on her very first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
First of all, commemorate the occasion with some personalized Mickey ears and a First Visit celebration button! You can have the ears embroidered with her name at
Fantasy Faire in Magic Kingdom Park and you can request a complimentary button from your Disney Resort hotel front desk or any Guest Relations window at any theme park! Cast Members will personalize them for free, but you can also stop by
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom to have a calligraphy artist add a little extra magic to it for a fee.
While you will always remember this trip, consider booking a
Capture Your Moment photo session so all the magic will be caught on camera! Purchase your princess a fun Mickey balloon to use as a magical prop during the session and be sure to ask the PhotoPass photographers to add Magic Shots to your images for a little extra fun!
Character dining experiences are also great for first visits! We took my niece to breakfast at
'Ohana for her first visit this year and she loved getting one-on-one time with Lilo and Stitch as well as hugging Mickey Mouse and watching the Best Friends Parade during our meal! It was a great way to have the characters come to her and let her warm up to them while enjoying a delicious meal! Another of our favorite character meals is Garden Grill Restaurant in EPCOT!
I'm not sure how old your princess is, but if she is at least 3 years old, she can experience a princess makeover inside Cinderella Castle at
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! This magical transformation is an experience both of my girls remember, and looking back at the photos captured on those days reminds me of the magic of childhood and how quickly they grow up! This experience does book early, so make your reservation 60 days in advance if you're interested!
One last tip I'll share is to check out the many resources planDisney has created for
planning magical memories with your little ones! From a video series featuring suggestions on dining, character meet and greets, and Disney Resort hotels, to other tips and insights for each specific theme park, you'll find many more insider tips to help you find magic around every corner! You can also check out the
Walt Disney World Resort preschool page for more ideas and tips!
Anna, I hope some of these suggestions help! Remember that everything is going to be magical in her eyes, and seeing the magic of Disney through her eyes will unlock new experiences and moments for you too, so don't forget to embrace the magic of all the little moments like waving to her favorite character during the
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade or clapping and dancing along with Disney pals at
Disney Jr. Play and Dance! The most magical thing of all is being together in this special place!
Magic and Memories,
Alison
