Hi! I am planning a trip for my family and we will be at WDW for 3 days. We all have phones that will be on us so we will be able to take our own pictures but I am wondering if I should purchase the memory maker. What are the pros and cons to it. Thanks!

Hi Hannah! Memory Maker is a must have for all of our Walt Disney World Resort vacations!

The PhotoPass Photographers are skilled at capturing your treasured moments and there have been numerous Memory Maker photos that have ended up on our office desks or Christmas cards. There are also videos at select attractions and Magic Shots featuring some of your favorite Disney characters. You can even add digital borders and stickers to personalize your photos.

Once you arrive home from your vacation, you download your photos from Disney's PhotoPass website. You will also be able to see your photos on your My Disney Experience mobile app throughout your vacation.

Our Walt Disney World Resort vacations are typically a week in length and we come home with 400+ photos. Our number of photos has decreased as our kiddos' focus has turned from Character experiences to attractions.

To help you with your decision making, I have include Memory Maker locations (I didn't include Character Experiences):

Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Test Track, Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Expedition Everest, and Dinosaur.

The following attractions require the Guest have a Magic Band with them so the photo/video will automatically associate to the account: Pirates of the Caribbean, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Frozen Ever After, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Dining: 1900 Park Fare, Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast, Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, Chef Mickey’s, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, and Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

I hope this helps you with your decision. Please let me know if you need any other information regarding Memory Maker. Have a magical day!
