Hello there, Yvonne! Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and ask your wonderful Walt Disney World Resort question!
Walt Disney World Resort always shines in regards to their services and accommodations for their
Guests with disabilities! As someone that also using a wheelchair when visiting the parks, my family and I have had very similar questions to your own actually! The answer to your question actually depends on how you would like to experience the
attraction. In the past, I have seen some Guests leave their personal wheelchairs outside of an attraction near the stroller parking areas and they seem confident doing so. Personally, I have difficulty standing for long periods of time so I always bring my wheelchair with me into the attraction queue. Once we make it to the front of the line, a Cast Member will ask whether or not you are able to transfer and, if so, when you would be the most convenient time and place for you to do so. Once you have transferred into the ride vehicle, a Cast Member will actually take your wheelchair and roll it to the exit area. That way, it will be waiting for you as soon as you finish with the attraction! I have never feared anything happening to my personal wheelchair whenever a Cast Member handles it so this is my preferred method!
Also, here's a
list of attraction accessibility in case you haven't had the chance to see it yet!
Have fun continuing to plan for your upcoming vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!
