We are planning a trip for our family of 5 plus grandmother. We have an 8 year old, 6 yr old, and infant, and would like to visit in 2020. I know grandma would like privacy when staying at Disney. What kind of rooms should we search?

Hi, Moriah, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Many options at the Walt Disney World Resort will accommodate your family, and it is a pleasure to walk you through a few!

If your infant is not older than three by the time you travel, you can go for two standard rooms and request connecting rooms. While those requests cannot always be granted, you can request them at most Disney Resort hotels, and booking two standard rooms at Disney's Pop Century Resort can be a great option.

If your little one is older than three and you’d like a more spacious room, you can choose to book two rooms at the Disney Resort hotels that have rooms that sleep 5 Guests. They are Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, Disney’s Beach Club Villas and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.

The Family Suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort can also be fantastic if you agree to give Grandma a separate room and share the living room and the second bathroom with the kids. All Family Suites include a bedroom with one queen-size bed, one double-size convertible TableBed, one double-size sleeper sofa in the living room, two bathrooms, and a kitchenette.

The perfect option for your family, in my opinion, though, is a 2 Bedroom Villa. These exceptional accommodations feature full kitchens, spacious living rooms, and private washers and dryers. They also offer a master bedroom with a king-size bed and a second bedroom that usually features a queen-size bed and a queen-size sleeper sofa. They're perfect for you to relax in the living room while the kids or the Grandma rest on their bedrooms. Don't they sound amazing?

The Villas located at Disney's Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort would be extra magical because they are located right by Magic Kingdom Park, and you can walk to the park and back for naps and afternoon breaks.

The fantastic 2 Bedroom Villas can also be found at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village, Disney's Beach Club Villas, Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's BoardWalk Villas and The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

If you like these accommodations, you can also consider becoming a member of the Disney Vacation Club. These Villas can be booked using points and this option can be very cost-effective if you intend to visit often. My husband and I became members and it made a lot of sense for our family, since we intend to visit every two years with grandparents.

Please come back if you want more options, details about accommodations, tickets, and FastPass+ or dining reservations. We are here to help you make magical memories at the Walt Disney World Resort!

May the magic be with you,

    Julie
