I am planning a trip for my family of 6 in June 2013 my question is what is the average temp durning this time and does it rain alot durning this month? and if it rains do they shut down the rides?

    Hi, Gerry!

The Florida sun does get hot during the summer months!  Temperatures in June will range from 71 degrees at nighttime to 91 degrees at its hottest, usually lingering around the high 80's during the day.  It often feels hotter due to the strong sunshine and humidity (so take lots of breaks and keep hydrated).

It is a pretty rainy in June with about 14 days of rain a month.  The good thing is often rain in Florida is a 15 minute downpour mid-afternoon then it clears up.  (My kids will say "Here comes the 3 o'clock rain!" every afternoon!)  Make sure to bring rain ponchos and extra shoes so you can keep on rolling even if it rains.

Many attractions will keep going even in the rain, but when extreme lightning starts, some will need to shut down for safety reasons.  Most times, however, when you see rain, besides getting a bit wet, it is business as usual in Walt Disney World!

Hakuna Matata, no worries about the weather, just plan accordingly.  Afternoon breaks, sunscreen, water bottles, hats, sunglasses, and a trip or two on Splash Mountain to cool you down.  Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
