Hello, I am planning a trip with my family of 6 for the first time! We are going in Spring. My daughter has a disability in an electric wheelchair. We are having a hard time deciding if we should get the Resort Value pack for 3/4days. Suggestions?Thankyou!

    Hi Martha,

Welcome to the Moms Panel! And congratulations on planning your first trip to Disney!  You're going to love it!

One of my sons has Cerebral Palsy and we've been taking him to Disney since he was born. I've found Disney World to be super accommodating to Guests with special needs.

There are a few things you should consider before making your decision as to how many days you should stay. How does your daughter (and other kids) do away from home? How do they do in a hotel room?  My son does okay with both, however, we do our best to keep him on a schedule he is used to including eating, napping and getting to bed at night.

The parks are really big and even kids without special needs get worn out. We try to plan some breaks from the parks so that my son has some down time. If we're planning to stay in the parks later for fireworks or evening Extra Magic Hours, we sleep in and go a little later. If we're trying to make the opening ceremony at Magic Kingdom or morning Extra Magic Hours, we make sure that we're in bed earlier the night before.

If you have a lot of things on your "must do" list and think it may be awhile before you make another trip to Disney, I'd go for four days so that you don't feel as pressed for time and can relax a little during your trip too.

If you have any questions about traveling the "world" with your daughter, let me know. I'm super happy to assist you.

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
